Jason E. Havens is the managing attorney/member of Havens & Miller, P.L.L.C. His private law practice specializes in complex estate and charitable gift planning for affluent individuals and families and on behalf of charitable organizations.

He is board certified in Wills, Trusts and Estates Law by The Florida Bar and as an Estate Planning Law Specialist by the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc., an organization accredited by the American Bar Association and affiliated with the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils. Pursuant to the rules of the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization, an agency of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the latter certification also qualifies Mr. Havens to apply to become a Tennessee board-certified specialist in Estate Planning. Mr. Havens received his LL.M. in International Taxation (Emphasis: International Estate Planning & Asset Protection Law) from Regent University School of Law, his LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law, his J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Lipscomb University. In 1997, he created Legal Research for Estate Planners (LREP), a personal website that is recognized as one of the premier Internet sites on estate planning.

Mr. Havens is an active member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society, and various sections, councils, and committees on estate planning. He has lectured at various programs on estate planning, including the 37th annual Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning and the 24th annual Southern California Tax & Estate Planning Forum. He was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in American Law in the fields of estate planning, probate, and estate taxation and of Who's Who in America.

Robert R. Kurtz represents individuals accused of criminal offenses in Federal and State court. Mr. Kurtz represents clients accused of DUI, drug offenses, sex offenses, homicide/murder, internet crimes, and a variety of other felonies and misdemeanors.

Mr. Kurtz received his undergraduate degree, with honors, from the University of Southwestern Louisiana at Lafayette. Mr. Kurtz graduated, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2000. While at the University of Tennessee, Mr. Kurtz received the Charles Miller Excellence in Advocacy Award.

Mr. Kurtz is a an active member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, having served as co-chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee for three years. Mr. Kurtz is active in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Knoxville Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Licensed to practice law in the courts of the State of Tennessee and in the Federal Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Tennessee, David has represented hundreds of clients in a wide array of criminal and civil disputes. He has appeared as counsel at all levels of state court, to and including the Tennessee Supreme Court. He is a member of the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations and is a member Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Ms. McKinnish graduated with a Bachelorâs Degree from the University of Tennessee and received her law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. While in law school, she received the award for Best Oral Advocate in 2003 and was named the Associate Chief Justice of the University of Memphis law school as Moot Court Board. Also while in law school Ms. McKinnish was a National Environmental Moot Court semi-finalist and completed an internship with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Tennessee, a clerkship in the Corporate Legal Division with Servicemaster, Inc. and a summer clerkship with The Bosch Law Firm, P.C., focusing on complex criminal defense litigation, including death penalty defense. Upon graduation she was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2005.

Ms. McKinnish began her practice with Rice, Amundsen & Rogers, P.L.L.C., a boutique Domestic Relations firm located in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was a member of the Memphis Bar Association. Ms. McKinnish returned to the East Tennessee area to be closer to her family. Her primary practice areas include family law, juvenile law and adoptions. Steve has been a member of the Board of Regents of the National College for
DUI Defense since 1999 and began his term as Dean of the College in July 2009. He was also the first lawyer in Tennessee to be certified as a DUI Defense Specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization and the NCDD.

He is the author of DUI: The Crime & Consequences in Tennessee and co-author of the national treatise, Drunk Driving Defense with Lawrence Taylor. He has been chair or co-chair of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers' DUI Committee since 1995 and is a frequent contributor to its official publication, The Champion.

Steve has been an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee Law School since 1993 and has received a number of prestigious awards for his faculty contributions. He is a popular speaker at seminars throughout the United States and has even spoken to court officials in Cambridge, England about defending impaired drivers. In 2002, Steve was honored to demonstrate cross-examination techniques and lecture at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia on the topic of courtroom testimony and is periodically designated as Special Judge for the DUI Division of the Sessions Court in Knox County, Tennessee. In 2006, he was appointed to the Governor's Task Force on DUI Laws in Tennessee.
